Village of Lemont, Schools Close for Labor Day

Also this week: The 65th annual Keepataw Days parade and Week 2 of high school football.

Officially, the last day of summer is Sept. 21.

But with the kids back in school, Monday brings a sure sign that the dog days of summer are all but over: Labor Day is here.

On Monday, anticipate the following closings:

  • Lemont Village Hall
  • Lemont High School
  • District 113A schools
  • St. Alphonsus/St. Patrick School
  • SS. Cyril and Methodius School
  • Everest Academy
  • Lemont Public Library
  • Lemont Post Office locations
The Lemont Park District's CORE Fitness and Aquatic Complex will be open from 7 a.m to noon Monday, and Centennial Pool will be open from noon to 6 p.m.

Keepataw Days Parade: The 65th annual Keepataw Days Parade will be held at 1 p.m. Monday in downtown Lemont. For complete details, check out Patch's guide to Keepataw Days 2013.

Lemont Farmers Market: The Lemont Farmers Market will be held from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday in Talcott Square, located at Stephen and Talcott streets.

Week 2 Football: Lemont High School (0-1) will look to bounce back from its loss to Plainfield South when they travel to Riverside-Brookfield on Friday. The game begins at 7 p.m.
