UPDATED

A horse and two ponies have been reunited with their owner after they were found roaming near a Lemont golf course on Sunday.

The animals escaped from their home Sunday morning and were seen walking down Derby Road, according to Lemont Police Sgt. Therese Thompson.

They were captured by Lemont police at Ruffled Feathers Golf Course, 1 Pete Dye Drive.

The owner came forward after receiving a call from a Lemont official, who recognized the animals from her Derby Road home. The animals were returned in a trailer from nearby Kopping Farms, Thompson said.
