Patch Salutes You: Local Family Devoted to Serving

In honor of Veterans Day, Patch would like to recognize local members of the miltary—past or present.

In honor of Veterans Day and in support of our armed forces—past and present—each day this week, Patch would like to give a shout-out to local members of the military.

Tuesday's shout-out goes to a family for whom serving our country is a family affair. Pictured is reader Marilou Purpura's brother Kenny Perry,  who died on Jan. 3, 1970 at the age of 21. Purpura's father and Lemont resident Joe Perry served in World War II, as did her father-in-law Joseph Purpura.
More Patch love to Purpura's brother Joseph Perry, who served in Korea, as did her cousin Bob Rogers.
Thank you, veterans!
