U.S. Rep Dan Lipinski Opens New District Office
Lipinski’s Congressional office will hold a grand opening at Central Square in Lockport beginning at 11 a.m. Friday.
Area officials will join U.S. Rep. Dan Lipinski (IL-3) at a ceremonial ribbon cutting for his new Third Congressional District office at 11 a.m. Friday. The new office will be located on the first floor of Central Square at 222 East 9th St. in Lockport. The hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. No appointments are necessary. In keeping with the congressman’s goal of locating his district offices in close proximity to local government offices, the Lockport office will be in the same building as the City of Lockport, Lockport Township, and the Lockport Township Park District. “As an elected official who strives to be involved in the communities I represent, I am excited to open a new office in Lockport’s historic downtown area…

I realize a engine is expensive and when you consider it can pull fifty or more box cars...there isn't much money in extra trains for passengers. You would think someone would develop an inexpensive "passenger train" pulled by something less powerfull with a simple diesel power plant.
