Student-created Masks on Auction Block Saturday

Tickets are available for SD 113A Educational Foundation fundraiser at Ruffled Feathers Golf Club.

Guests at the Mardi Gras Mask-er-Aid this weekend will be treated to a very special art auction. Students at Oakwood, River Valley and Old Quarry Middle School decorated masks in support of the SD113A Educational Foundation fundraiser to take place Saturday, Feb. 9, at Ruffled Feathers Golf Club. “The kids were so excited to complete an art project to show off for the community,” said third-grade teacher Nicole Dyche. “Knowing their art was going to be ‘for sale’ gave them a greater sense of pride in their work. All of the kids were able to work together incredibly well to create wonderful masks!” Dyche also mentioned many families donated materials for the masks, and the staff and students were grateful for the supplies. Lemont-Homer Glen Rotary Plans Craft Beer Tasting

Charity event will take place Sept. 27 at Ruffled Feathers Golf Club.

Have you ever thought of brewing your own beer at home? Do you love the taste of specialty craft beers? Here’s your chance to see presentations on the popular art of brewing, enjoy tasty appetizers and, best of all, sample unique craft beers – all while donating to a good cause. The Rotary Club of Lemont/Homer Glen is planning a charity craft beer tasting from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 27, at Ruffled Feathers Golf Club, 1 Pete Dye Drive, Lemont. The event will also include a cash bar, 50/50 raffle, door prizes and auction. Mayor's Drive for Charity Raises Nearly $30K for Lemont Charities

The annual event was held Monday morning at Ruffled Feathers Golf Club despite rainy conditions and cold temperatures.

The annual Mayor's Drive for Charity had its best year yet, raising about $30,000 for Lemont charities, Mayor Brian Reaves announced last week. Reaves holds the golf outing each year at Ruffled Feathers Golf Club, 1 Pete Dye Drive, to raise money for local service and non-profit organizations. During the May 14 village board meeting, Reaves said the event raised nearly $30,000 after expenses, making it the best year to date. "Thank you to everybody, and thank you to everybody at Ruffled Feathers. It's an unprecedented kindness they give to us, donating the course for two full rounds for the whole day.
