School officials said they have found no evidence to substantiate a chalk message that claimed Oakwood would explode Tuesday.
Officials in Lemont-Bromberek Combined School District 113A said heightened security measures will continue at Oakwood School on Tuesday—two days after police found a bomb threat written in chalk on one of the building's exterior walls. Lemont Girl Scout Troop 259, third-grade brownies from River Valley School, collected more than 900 pairs of mittens from generous members of the community last year – and hoped to top that total in socks this year. The girls not only met their goal of 900 - they ended up with 1,482 pairs of socks for Lemont families in need. “I am truly blown away by all the hard work these girls put into it,” said troop leader Robyn Horn. “They stood outside in the cold at Walgreens for hours soliciting our community.
