Muffins Ice Cream Shoppe will reopen Friday after being closed for the winter season. The ice cream and coffee shop, located at 400 E. Illinois St. in downtown Lemont, will open at 6:30 a.m. — just in time for the morning commute. According to Muffins' Facebook page, the shop will open earlier this year so customers have time to stop in for coffee and muffins before work. Hours are 6:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Muffins, which opened in April 2011, boasts a large variety of beverages and sweets, including homemade ice cream, frozen yogurt, cupcakes, coffee, tea and—as you might expect—muffins. The shop proudly serves Plush Horse Ice Cream, an area favorite of Palos Park since 1937. …

Taking the 6:40am train, I don't see enough time to stop in for coffee and muffin/bagel (etc) before my train. I wish they opened up a little bit earlier. more ›
