Argus Brewery has teamed up with the Lemont bar and restaurant to serve Payton's new All-American Wheat Ale.
Former NFL running back Jarrett Payton, the son of the late Chicago Bears great Walter Payton, appeared at Orange 13 Lounge in Lemont on Thursday to unveil his new craft beer. Orange 13, located at 14196 McCarthy Road, has partnered with Chicago-based Argus Brewery to serve Payton's "All-American Wheat Ale." Payton was on hand for the first pour Thursday, along with representatives from Argus and former American Idol contestant Chris Medina, an Oak Forest native. The beer is described by the website Chicago Beer Geeks as a beer "that is straw in color, moderately bitter with a subtle, fruit-like hop character that compliments the refreshing, wheat-based ale." Lemont businesses are celebrating the Irish holiday Saturday with food and drink specials, live entertainment and activities for the whole family.
From Irish beer to corned beef and cabbage, local restaurants are celebrating St. Patrick's Day with a variety of deals and special events. Here's a roundup of some specials around Lemont: The restaurant will host its second annual Shamrocks and Shenanigans Fest beginning at 10 a.m. Saturday. Specials include $4 20-ounce drafts of six different Irish beers, and $5 Jameson and Ginger's. The party is open to the whole family. Orange 13—Lemont's new, upscale restaurant and lounge—hosted about 100 guests for a swanky grand opening celebration Monday night. Lemont Mayor Brian Reaves, village officials and the Lemont Area Chamber of Commerce welcomed Orange 13 to town with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and champagne toast. The event also featured special hors d'oeuvres and live music by vocalist Diva Montell. Orange 13, 14196 McCarthy Road, opened quietly Jan. 25, and business is now in full swing. Restaurant owners hope to bring healthy world cuisine and club vibe to Derby Plaza.
A long-awaited upscale restaurant and lounge will open Wednesday evening in Lemont's Derby Plaza. Orange 13, 14196 McCarthy Road, will serve fusion cuisine from all over the world in a Las Vegas-inspired lounge environment.
