Lemont Junior Woman’s Club Celebrates 20 Years of Giving
Not-for-profit organization, providing cultural, educational, civic and philanthropic services to Lemont and its residents.
The Lemont Junior Woman’s Club is kicking off the new year – and newly elected club president Jill McAndrews is acknowledging and honoring the club’s history while looking toward the future through the theme, “Grounded, Growing, Giving.” Established in 1993 by 50 charter members, the LJWC began by dedicating itself to establishing a permanent site for its Safety Village programs. Today, the building at 55 Stephen St. hosts a variety of local groups, including Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, sports clubs and more. In 1998, the club began sponsoring the Lemont Juniorettes, a service group for young women ages 12 through 18.
