Mindflow Café Continues Holiday Sale Through Saturday

Shoppers can choose from holiday décor items, Christmas trees, candles, ornaments and more – with sale proceeds going to charity.

Are you looking for the perfect décor to deck out your house for the holidays, but don’t want to spend a fortune? Look no further than Mindflow Café at 206 Main St. in downtown Lemont, where you can choose from boutique décor items as well as elegant Christmas trees and floral, decorations and candles, ornaments and more–all at garage-sale prices. The items are from the former Bella Interiors, which is liquidating its entire Christmas inventory. Donate Turkeys and All the Trimmings

Hope and Friendship Foundation is seeking donations and volunteers to provide a happy Thanksgiving for local families in need.

Terri O’Neill-Borders of the Hope and Friendship Foundation said that when she offered to help local families in need enjoy a traditional Thanksgiving dinner this year, she expected to get 15 to 20 requests. But she said the humble requests kept mounting, until they reached more than 50. “I didn’t expect the many recent layoffs, the sick kids causing a single mom/dad to miss work days and pay, the health scare that created doctor and prescription bills, etc.,” said O’Neill-Borders. “Those who are trying to run their households at the minimum wage and just above level do not have resources for these crises. They also don’t have an extra $15 for a turkey, but would love to enjoy one.” O’Neill-Borders said she was fretting over how to come up…

Honor Veterans, Active Duty Military This Week

Mindflow Café, Hope and Friendship Foundation collecting cards, letters, poems and pictures to send to veterans and troops overseas.

Mindflow Café and the Hope and Friendship Foundation are encouraging local children and adults to show their appreciation for veterans and active-duty military personnel by writing letters or poems, drawing pictures or signing cards to be delivered to Hines VA Hospital and troops overseas. Correspondence may be dropped off at Mindflow Café at 206 Main St. in downtown Lemont through Friday during business hours, 6 a.m.-6 p.m. In conjunction with the Values for Veterans promotion organized by the Hope and Friendship Foundation, Mindflow Café is offering a free lunch for veterans and active military members who stop by in their uniform or colors this week – and those who present  military IDs will receive 20 percent off their bills. Mindflow Café will hold a grand opening event from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at its new location at 206 Main St. in downtown Lemont. The event will provide participants with a gift bag filled with business tips, giveaways and more – as well as plenty of great food and conversation.
