Mardi Gras 'Mask-er-Aid' Raises $11K for SD 113A Educational Foundation

It's not too late to make a donation to the charitable group, which provides educational materials and programs beyond the operating budget of the school district.

Nearly 200 people wore festive beads and masks to support the School District 113A Educational Foundation’s Mardi Gras Mask-er-Aid on Saturday. By the end of the night, the group had raised $11,000 to fund materials and programs for the schools. Board of Education President Dave Molitor joined the Blooze Brothers Band on stage to sing “Sweet Home Chicago,” one of the more creative auction items available that evening. The auction also featured bisque fired masks created by Old Quarry students and school groups including the PTO and Band Boosters.
