March Home Sales: Lemont Market Shows Increase; Median Price Rises Significantly

Year-over-year, Lemont saw a slight increase in the number of homes sold. The median home price rose significantly, according to the Mainstreet Organization of Realtors.

The 16 homes sold in Lemont during March 2013 represented a 23 percent increase over March 2012, when 13 homes were sold, according to the Mainstreet Organization of Realtors (MORe). While the number of homes sold increased slightly, the median price of homes sold in March rose significantly in Lemont. The median price increased 69.9 percent to $326,250 from $192,000 in March 2012. The market for detached, single-family homes in suburbs throughout DuPage County experienced notable sales gains in March, MORe reported. MORe gets its statistics from Midwest Real Estate Data. Lemont Home Sales Double From January '12 to '13

By Lauren Williamson The nine detached, single-family homes sold in Lemont during January represented a 125 percent increase over January 2012, when four homes were sold, according to the Mainstreet Organization of Realtors.  The number of sales continues an upward trend for the Lemont housing market, which saw 11 homes sold during December. While home sales were up, the median price of homes sold in January was down. Lemont Home Sales See Increase in Median Price

There were 13 single-family homes sold in Lemont in November, up from nine the same time last year.

The 13 detached, single-family homes sold during November in Lemont represented a 44 percent increase over November 2011, according to the Mainstreet Organization of Realtors. There were 19 homes sold in Lemont during October. In addition, the median price of homes sold in November ($390,000) was 34.5 percent higher than the median price of homes sold in October 2011 ($290,000).  The market for detached, single-family homes in suburbs throughout west Cook County saw growth in November, MORe reported. Lemont Sees Uptick in October Home-Sales

Number of homes sold in Lemont in October increased by 72.7 percent over last year.

Lemont's real-estate market experienced an uptick in October 2012 over the same month last year, with an increase of 72.7 percent over October 2011. The number of actual homes sold in Lemont this October was 19, compared to the 11 sold during the same period last year. Home sales in the village saw a slight decrease (4.9 percent) in median prices over last year's figures -- from $305,000 to $290,000.
