The village of Lemont will hold an open house and rededication ceremony Monday night for the newly renovated Village Hall. The open house will be held from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at Village Hall, 418 Main St. A rededication ceremony will be held at 6:30 p.m. Renovations to the 120-year-old Village Hall began last summer and continued through January. The approximately $2.2 million in upgrades included improvements to its lobby, roof, windows, exterior doors, bathrooms and conference rooms. The rededication ceremony will run in conjunction with an open house for the Lemont Area Chamber of Commerce, which recently moved its office from the Main Street Metra Station to Village Hall. “I can’t tell you how great it is to be back in this building,” said Lemont Mayor Brian Reaves Monday night as the village board held its first meeting at the newly renovated Village Hall at 418 Main St. The approximately $2.2 million in renovations to the 120-year-old building included improvements to its lobby, roof, windows, exterior doors, bathrooms and conference rooms. Since mid-summer, temporary village offices have been housed at the former Central School on McCarthy Road. I just wanted to say that I have lived in Lemont since 1986 and have had no problems in the past. However, we are now living in Covington Knolls and one of my neighbors continually parks her car in her driveway blocking the sidwalk.
