The final car show of the season will be held from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. tonight in downtown Lemont.
The streets of downtown Lemont will be lined with antique and classic vehicles on Wednesday during Lemont Legends Cruise Nights. The summer series, organized by the Lemont Area Chamber of Commerce, runs 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. every Wednesday, June 6 through Aug. 29. The event is held on Main, Lemont and Canal streets in the village's downtown area. In addition to the dozens of classic cars that will be showcased each week, Cruise Nights also feature entertainment and food from several local vendors. The Lemont Area Chamber of Commerce hosted the first "Lemont Legends" car show of the summer Wednesday night.
Hundreds of local residents and car enthusiasts packed the streets of downtown Lemont on Wednesday for the kickoff of the 13th annual Lemont Legends Cruise Nights. The theme for the first night was "Calling All Cars." The event was hosted by the Lemont Area Chamber of Commerce, and featured entertainment and food from several local vendors. The next Cruise Nights event will be held Wednesday, June 13, and will feature street rods. Lemont Legends Cruise Nights will continue Wednesday with the popular "Emergency Vehicles Night."
The Lemont Fire Protection District will kick off its 125th anniversary celebration with the popular "Emergency Vehicles Night" in downtown Lemont. Police and fire vehicles old and new will line Main Street from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday as part of Lemont Legends Cruise Nights. The event is held in conjunction with the Lemont Police Department and the Lemont Area Chamber of Commerce. The Lemont Fire Protection District will be selling 125th anniversary memorabilia to benefit the Fallen Firefighter Memorial and childhood cancer research. In the event of rain, Emergency Vehicles Night will be rescheduled to Wednesday, Aug. 31. Lemont Legends Cruise Nights will resume next week with Ford vehicles.
The Lemont Area Chamber of Commerce's weekly car show has been canceled due to inclement weather, chamber officials announced. The Lemont Legends Cruise Nights, which takes place every Wednesday from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. in downtown Lemont, was scheduled to feature Chevys this week. However, the National Weather Service is predicting a chance of scattered showers and thunderstorms through midnight. The car show will resume next week with Ford vehicles.
