The village of Lemont will hold an open house and rededication ceremony Monday night for the newly renovated Village Hall. The open house will be held from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at Village Hall, 418 Main St. A rededication ceremony will be held at 6:30 p.m. Renovations to the 120-year-old Village Hall began last summer and continued through January. The approximately $2.2 million in upgrades included improvements to its lobby, roof, windows, exterior doors, bathrooms and conference rooms. The rededication ceremony will run in conjunction with an open house for the Lemont Area Chamber of Commerce, which recently moved its office from the Main Street Metra Station to Village Hall. The Lemont Area Chamber of Commerce encourages high school seniors who live in Lemont Township to apply for one of two $500 chamber scholarships to help continue their education in college or vocational/technical school. Applicants must compose and submit an essay following the theme, “What are the benefits of entrepreneurship and economic development for the community?” The essay must be typewritten with a minimum of 500 and maximum of 1,000 words (two pages), and requires a cover sheet with name, address, phone number, email, attending high school and attending college. Lemont Mayor Brian Reaves and the Lemont Area Chamber of Commerce will present the 10th annual State of the Village address on Wednesday, March 6, at Crystal Grand Banquets at 12416 Archer Ave. During the event, guests will have the opportunity to hear Reaves present the current state and future direction of Lemont – which will undoubtedly include strategic planning, economic development, transportation updates, the village’s proposed sports complex and more. Village and Chamber of Commerce representatives officially welcomed Tap House Grill to Lemont with a ribbon-cutting ceremony Wednesday night.
Lemont’s Tap House Grill, which quietly opened in Lemont in mid-November, was warmly welcomed to Lemont Wednesday night by officials of the Village of Lemont and Lemont Area Chamber of Commerce. The restaurant/pub is celebrating its “grand re-opening” through Sunday - featuring daily specials, raffles and plenty of opportunities for beer enthusiasts and food lovers alike to delight their palates with a wide variety of hand-crafted brews and tasty treats.
