The Lemont Park District hosted its annual Independence Day Extravaganza on Tuesday at Centennial Park.

Thousands packed the Centennial Park on Sunday for the Lemont Park District's annual Independence Day Extravaganza. The event featured several local food vendors, live music, a bean bag tournament, a skateboard competition and a number of activities for kids. The night was capped off by a 35-minute firework display, which was simulcast on 104.1 FM. Have any good photos from Sunday's event? Lemont Park District Kicks off Holiday Festivities with 'Independence Day Extravaganza'

Fourth of July activities will kick off at 4 p.m. Tuesday, July 3, at Centennial Park, with fireworks scheduled for dusk. The annual Freedom Run will be held at 8 a.m. Wednesday.

The Lemont Park District is celebrating the Fourth of July one day early with its annual Independence Day Extravaganza. Festivities begin at 4 p.m. Tuesday at Centennial Park, 16028 W. 127th St. Scheduled activities include a skateboarding competition, 3-on-3 basketball and bean bag tournaments, and live music. The beer garden and food court will benefit the Lemont Park Foundation. If you're looking to kick of your Fourth of July a day early, head on over to the Lemont Park District for their annual Independence Day Extravaganza.
