Election Results: Did Lemont Vote for Obama or Romney?
Local residents voted last Tuesday for president, Senate and House candidates.
Although President Barack Obama won re-election last Tuesday, Gov. Mitt Romney was the choice of the majority of Lemont Township voters, winning 12 out of 14 voting precincts, according to data released from the Cook County Clerk's office. The re-elected president had 3,643 votes in Lemont Township (36.72 percent), compared to Republican challenger Mitt Romney's 6,125 (61.74 percent), according to the numbers reported by the Cook County Clerk's Office. The following is a breakdown of voting by precincts for all the candidates on the 2012 presidential ballot. The 12 Lemont precincts that Mitt Romney won are bolded in the charts.
