Lemont Library Honoring Veterans Thursday
Members of the public are invited to meet and thank World War II veterans for their service to our country.
Lemont Public Library will hold its annual Veterans Day commemoration at 7 p.m. Thursday in the library meeting room. Join library staff and "Learn to Say Thanks" to the veterans of World World II. Featured speaker will be Dennis Gagnon, a volunteer with Honor Flight Chicago, whose mission is to recognize and thank WWII veterans by bringing them to Washington, D.C. for a day of honor. Participants will also have the opportunity to meet several veterans of World War II, including Edwin Ognowski who served on the USS Missouri during the Attack on Pearl Harbor.
