Entrepreneurial café provides space to work, have meetings, meet new people.
Mindflow Café will hold a grand opening event from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at its new location at 206 Main St. in downtown Lemont. The event will provide participants with a gift bag filled with business tips, giveaways and more – as well as plenty of great food and conversation. MindFlow Cafe is run by MindFlow Group, a Lemont-based consulting firm. Manager Keith Nowakowski has described Mindflow as an “entrepreneurial cafe" that provides a space to think, work, have group meetings and meet new people. Retail and donation center at 1146 State Street is celebrating its grand opening weekend through Sunday.
A brand-new Goodwill retail and donation center is now open at 1146 State Street – and judging from the response from customers its very first day, the business is on the road to success. The store opened at 8 a.m. Friday to much fanfare – with throngs of customers waiting to shop for bargains and take advantage of the Goodwill’s grand-opening contests, refreshments and prizes. On Saturday, festivities will include free refreshments and a free reusable shopping bag with any purchase, while supplies last; prize giveaways every 15 minutes from 9 a.m. to noon, and a special prize for both the first customer and first donor of the day. The new Front Street Cantina opened its doors over the weekend to celebrate its grand opening in downtown Lemont. Ben DeVee and Dan Tacone, owners of Front Street Cantina, hosted dozens of guests Saturday for a ribbon-cutting event with the Lemont Area Chamber of Commerce. The Tex-Mex restaurant is located at 319 Front St. on the ground level of the Front Street Lofts, and has been open for business since Oct. 18. The owners and longtime friends formed a partnership using DeVee's small business background and Tacone's restaurant experience, they said. Déjá Vu Rack celebrated its grand opening Saturday in Lemont Village Square on State Street.
A new, "upscale" consignment boutique in Lemont is offering bargain hunters a wide variety of designer clothing and accessories just in time for the holiday shopping season. Déjá Vu Rack, located at 1243 State St. in Lemont Village Square, celebrated its grand opening Saturday with a ribbon cutting courtesy of the Lemont Area Chamber of Commerce. The event featured plenty of deals, as well as a free raffle for gift certificates and prizes. Kim Cochrane, owner of Déjá Vu Rack, decided to open the shop after many years in retail management. During the opening celebration Saturday, the Arts and Culture Commission was also presented with a special award from the Arts Alliance of Illinois and the Illinois Municipal League.
Lemont artists now officially have a place to call home. The village's Arts and Culture Commission celebrated Saturday the opening of its new Center for the Arts in the Lemont Village Square Plaza. "We're terribly excited," said commission member Emily JB Christian. "It really came together beautifully, and it's something the whole village can be proud of." The grand opening event featured artwork from several local artists, as well as hands-on activities, raffles and refreshments. I was looking forward to eating there. I went there for the first time with my family, it was terrible! Don't waste your time and money. Poor customer service; quality of food is below average; and atmosphere feels generic. Things might change as time passes, but I doubt it.   more ›
