Sock It To 'Em: Girl Scouts Help Families in Need

Lemont Girl Scout Troop 259's sock drive will begin Saturday and run through Halloween.

Beginning this Saturday, Girl Scout Troop 259 will be collecting new socks for Lemont families in need. The group of third-graders collected more than 900 pairs of mittens from generous members of the community last year – and hopes to top that total in socks this year. The girls are looking for men’s socks, women’s socks, kid’s socks, baby socks, sport socks, dress socks, even silly socks – in fact,  any socks  – as long as they’re new socks!  And people can donate any quantity of socks, too – whether single pairs or packages. Donations can be made at drop boxes in the following locations: The girls of Troop 259 – Emmy, Megan, Sophia, Mikaela, McKenna, Daleigh, Gracie, Shannon, Kristen, Molly and Ellie  – will be collecting socks through …

Excellent work girls, socks are so very important for both hygiene and comfort. I hope you will consider to keep this going, and even collect new socks for Comfort Socks, a 501c3 public charity that give new socks to homeless shelters all across the USA.
