Ethan Pocic, the LSU football recruit, spent time in Florida this month with some of the best high school football players in the country. He was joined by his Lemont coach, Eric Michaelsen.
Ethan Pocic, the lumbering Lemont graduate and LSU-bound football recruit, was lauded by his coach for his toughness and willingness "to play through pain and sickness." That toughness is what helped the 6-foot-6, 290-pound left tackle land at LSU, one of the most consistently great college football teams in the country. At the Under Armour All-American Game earlier this month, that toughness was on display: Pocic fought through a virus he had and then dislocated his finger on the second play, though decided to sit out the rest of the time. "They told me, 'It's just an All-Star game, stay healthy,'" Pocic said, recalling his experience. Although he didn't get to play the rest of the game, Pocic said he had a fantastic time in Florida. Three Lemont High School student-athletes are signing national letters of intent to play their sport in college. Information about their accomplishments was provided by Lemont High School. Carly Jaworski – Softball, Lewis University Lemont High School senior infielder/pitcher Carly Jaworski has signed a National Letter of Intent to play college softball at Lewis University in Romeoville beginning in 2014. Jaworski has performed well both at the plate and in the circle for two seasons, and will play a significant role for head coach Christine Traina’s Indians in 2014. In Jaworski’s two varsity seasons, Lemont has posted a 51-18 record and won one South Suburban Conference-Blue Division title and one IHSA Regional crown. Jaworski is a career…

Ethan Pocic, a senior football player from Lemont High School, was presented his honorary game jersey at the American Family Insurance Selection Tour for the 2013 Under Armour All-America High School Football Game at Lemont High School Friday. The event was part of the three-month American Family Insurance Selection Tour for the Under Armour All-America Game. Pocic, who has verbally committed to LSU, is one of 90 players selected to compete in the sixth-annual Under Armour All-America Game presented by American Family Insurance, a nationally televised competition spotlighting the country’s top high school seniors. Lemont High School junior Ethan Pocic—a 6-foot-6, 285-pound offensive lineman and one of the most sought after players in the state—has finally selected a college program. Lemont High School junior Ethan Pocic—a 6-foot-6, 285-pound offensive lineman—is one of seven Illinois high school football players to be nominated for the 2013 U.S. Army All-American Bowl, the Chicago Tribune reports. The seven rising seniors were among 400 players across the country nominated for the team. The nominating commitee will ultimately select 90 players to participate in the game on Jan. 5. Pocic is considered one of the top offensive recruits in the state, and has already received offers from nearly every major college football program in the country.
