Police Blotter: Hit and Run, DUI, Copper Theft

The following arrest information was supplied by the Lemont Police Department Dec. 17-23. Arrests do not indicate a conviction.

DUI, Improper Lane Usage Paulius Vailiauskas, 38, of the 1200 block of Le Moyne Ave. in Romeoville, was arrested at 10:07 p.m. at 127th St. and Covington Drive. He was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and improper lane usage and issued a Jan. 7 court date in Bridgeview. Hit and Run, No Valid Insurance, Failure to Report Accident, Failure to Reduce Speed to Avoid Accident, Unlawful Consumption of Alcohol by Minor Kelly A. Frantal, 19, of the 400 block of Grant St., was arrested at 6:05 p.m. at Eureka Ave. and Oak Lane. She was charged with hit and run, no valid insurance, failure to report accident, failure to reduce speed to avoid accident and unlawful consumption of alcohol by a minor. Police Nab Two Men in $500,000 Copper Heist

Cops say copper was stolen from a business on New Avenue in unincorporated Lemont.

Lemont Police, working in conjunction with the Tri County Auto Theft Task Force (TCAT), arrested two brothers Nov. 14 in connection with a theft of $500,000 worth of copper from a business in unincorporated Lemont. Kyle Anderson, 22, of Bridgeview and Mike Anderson, 27, of Oak Lawn were booked into the Cook County Jail on charges of felony theft. TCAT Deputy Director Dwayne Killian said based on a tip, TCAT agents began conducting surveillance at warehouses in Alsip, Oak Lawn and Bridgeview.  On Nov. 14, agents struck gold – or in this case, copper – as they observed two men using a Bobcat to remove the precious cargo from a semi trailer and place it on a smaller trailer. “We found [the copper] in Bridgeview at a little business, between …
