6A Football: Lemont Loses on 2-Point Conversion to Crete-Monee

Crete-Monee made a comeback late in the fourth quarter of their 6A semifinal playoff game against Lemont led by quarterback Marcus Terrell in their 28-27 win.

Breaking It Down: Lemont looked like it was going to be able to hold on to a lead they built in the first half once again, but Crete-Monee rallied with less than four minutes in the fourth quarter. After a 56-yard touchdown pass by Warriors' quarterback Marcus Terrell was negated on Crete-Monee's ninth penalty of the contest, the Warriors could have lost their composure. But they didn't. Football: Lemont Loses on Missed Extra Point in OT

Lemont kicker Joe Hehir's missed extra point attempt cost the Indians a 21-20 loss in overtime to T-F South.

Breaking It Down: When Joe Hehir lined up for a 42-yard field goal with 8 seconds left in regulation to break a 14-14 tie with T-F South, Lemont fans had reason to feel confident. Even though the kicker had missed an attempt in the second quarter, Hehir had connected on over 50-yard field goals previously. He won the game for Lemont in a similar situation just a week earlier. But, he could only put his head down, as he walked back to the Lemont sideline after watching his kick bounce off the field goal post's bottom crossbar. T-F South was able to take advantage of its new life in overtime, and took a 21-14 lead after Joe Young broke a tackle on his way to a 2-yard touchdown. Lemont's offense did not flinch, scoring on a Mitch Balek 5-yard…

Even though it emplies he lost the game, in the same message it talks about how it says he won the game the previous week, and I'm sure he didn't win the game by himself   more ›
