Lemont Park District Wants Your Input

Participate in the park district’s community-wide survey before March 15.

The Lemont Park District wants to know the answers to those questions and more, via a community-wide survey being conducted through March 15. The survey is part of a comprehensive community needs assessment that included focus group meetings earlier this year at Centennial Community Center, where residents gathered to voice their opinions and share their thoughts about the future of Lemont Park…

Lemont Girl Scouts Collecting Pajamas for Kids in Need

Donate new PJs through Dec.19 at MB Financial Bank, the local library and the park district’s CORE and Centennial facilities.

To achieve their goal and to earn their bronze award, the highest award a Girl Scout Junior can achieve, troop members are conducting a pajama drive. “The girls picked a project that they care about and that will make a difference in the world,” said troop leader Paulette Vogel. “They picked a pajama drive [because] there are thousands of kids in this world who do not own a pair of pajamas.” To make a donation, drop off new …

CORE, Centennial Pool Open; Community Center Remains Closed

As of 11 a.m., the Lemont Park District's telephone and computer systems were still down as a result of Monday's storm.

Despite losing power for much of the day after a severe thunderstorm passed through the area Monday morning, the Lemont Park District has re-opened all but one of its facilities. The CORE Fitness and Aquatic Complex, 16050 W. 127th St., resumed normal business hours Tuesday morning. Centennial Pool, 16028 W. 127th St., also opened at 11 a.m. However, Centennial Community Center remained closed due to issues with the park district's telephone and computer systems. Power outages also closed several businesses Monday, including Jewel-Osco and Nancy's Pizza—both of which resumed normal hours Tuesday.
