Softball: Lemont Blanks Oak Forest to Clinch Conference Title

Senior Carly Jaworski allowed two hits and struck out five in Lemont's 1-0 win over South Suburban Blue rival Oak Forest.

The score: Lemont 1, Oak Forest 0 The way it happened: The South Suburban Blue conference title was on the line Thursday as Lemont took on rival Oak Forest. Lemont needed a victory to take the crown; a loss would have meant a three-way tie with Oak Forest and Tinley Park. After sharing the title with Oak Forest last year and repeatedly finishing second in years past, the Indians finally came out on top with a 1-0 win Thursday—ending the Bengals' eight-year reign as conference champions. Lemont improved to 21-5 on the season and 17-2 in conference play. The Bengals slipped to 20-14 overall and 15-4 in South Suburban Blue. Lemont Student-Athletes Sign National Letters of Intent

LHS hosted a college commitment ceremony Wednesday for student-athletes Carly Jaworski, Megan Litoborski and Ethan Pocic.

Three Lemont High School student-athletes are signing national letters of intent to play their sport in college. Information about their accomplishments was provided by Lemont High School. Carly Jaworski – Softball, Lewis University Lemont High School senior infielder/pitcher Carly Jaworski has signed a National Letter of Intent to play college softball at Lewis University in Romeoville beginning in 2014. Jaworski has performed well both at the plate and in the circle for two seasons, and will play a significant role for head coach Christine Traina’s Indians in 2014. In Jaworski’s two varsity seasons, Lemont has posted a 51-18 record and won one South Suburban Conference-Blue Division title and one IHSA Regional crown. Jaworski is a career…
