Have Breakfast with the Big Guy

Tickets are available for the Lemont Junior Woman’s Club's annual benefit Breakfast with Santa Saturday, Dec. 8, at Cog Hill Golf and Country Club.

Local children and their families are invited to the Lemont Junior Woman's Club's annual Breakfast with Santa benefit on Saturday, Dec. 8, at Cog Hill Golf and Country Club, 12294 Archer Ave. in Lemont. Two seatings are available for the buffet-style breakfast: 8:30-11 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.-2 p.m.   The popular event will feature table-side magic performances, a horse-drawn sleigh ride, and, of course, a visit with Santa. Mrs. Claus will also be on hand to read her favorite holiday stories to children, and kids can make a holiday craft in Santa’s workshop. Guests are encouraged to bring a camera to snap a photo with Santa, as the club will not provide a photographer at the event this year. Attendees are asked to bring a wrapped gift for a …

PHOTOS: Families Pack Lemont Park District for Annual Breakfast with Santa

The event, held Sunday in Centennial Community Center, featured a variety of children's activities, as well as a hearty meal of pancakes, waffles and eggs.

Dozens of families gathered at Centennial Community Center on Sunday for the Lemont Park District's annual "Breakfast with Santa." Attendees enjoyed fresh waffles, scrambled eggs, sausage and other breakfast favorites, while children had their picture taken with Santa and made holiday crafts. The "Breakfast with Santa" event has been a tradition for the Lemont Park District for more than two decades, according to Carrie Dellamano, marketing coordinator for the Lemont Park District. Frigid 5K, Breakfast With Santa Tops Park District's Weekend Festivities

The third annual Frigid 5K race begins at 8 a.m. behind the CORE Fitness and Aquatics Complex. Breakfast with Santa will be held from 9 a.m. to noon Sunday.

Lemont Park District will be a flurry of activity Sunday, as both Santa Claus and a myriad of runners descend on the village. The Park District's third annual Frigid 5K race begins at 8 a.m. behind the CORE Fitness and Aquatics Complex, 16050 127th St., and goes around Centennial Campus. Awards will be given to the top two runners in each age division. The first Frigid 5K run began in 2009 during the park district’s grand opening weekend of the CORE. Fewer than 50 runners participated, said Carrie Dellamano, marketing coordinator for the Lemont Park District. But since then, numbers have continued to climb. Last year, about 145 runners participated. “And so far this year we have just about 170 runners,” Dellamano said. “We are actually …

Lemont Junior Woman's Club 16th Annual Breakfast with Santa On Saturday, the Lemont Junior Woman's Club will hold its 16th annual Breakfast with Santa Claus at Cog Hill Golf Club, 12294 Archer Ave. Seating will be from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., and will include a buffet breakfast, sleigh ride, stories with Mrs. Claus, a roaming magician, and a visit and photo with Santa.
