The Lemont High School freshmen boys basketball team capped off an undefeated season (24-0) Wednesday night with a 62-52 win over Hillcrest. Along the way, the boys won two tournaments. LHS Indians will visit rival Hillcrest in the regular-season finale Friday night. A victory would give Lemont a share of the South Suburban Conference title for the second straight year.

A year ago, Lemont High School's boys' basketball team used a furious second-half comeback to stun visiting Hillcrest High School, posting a last-second, 58-57 victory to earn a share of its first conference title since 1996. The two teams find themselves in the same place as the 2012-13 regular-season draws to a close. On Friday, Feb. 22, the Indians will visit Hillcrest High School in Country Club Hills in the regular-season finale for both teams. A victory would give Lemont a share of the South Suburban Conference title for the second straight year. Lemont High School's boys basketball team, which is enjoying its strongest season in decades, will take on regional host Providence Catholic on Friday for the IHSA Class 3A regional championship. Pre-sale tickets will be available from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday and 8 a.m. to noon Friday in Lemont's Pupil Personnel Services Office, 800 Porter St. After the ticket pre-sale, only a small number of tickets will be available at the door on the night of the game, which begins at 7:30 p.m. at Providence Catholic, 1800 W. Lincoln Highway in New Lenox. Fans who plan to attend the game and purchase tickets at the door should enter Door 8 or Door 14. Fans who purchase tickets in advance should enter through Door 9.
