The baseball team will sell brand new mattresses at discounted prices on Sunday, April 28.
The Lemont High School baseball program will hold a unique fundraiser Sunday that will allow its supporters to "rest easy." Head coach Brian Storako’s program will hold its first-ever Mattress Fundraiser Sale from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday in the school’s field house, 800 Porter St. Proceeds will directly benefit Lemont High School’s conference champion baseball program. All mattresses available will be brand new with their factory warranties. Prices will be set between 30-and 60-percent off of the regular retail cost. A wide variety of quality, name brand mattresses—including pillow-top, orthopedic, latex, gel beds and memory foam sets—will be available for purchase. Batter up! The DuPage County Hounds are a new collegiate wood-bat team with players from Patch towns such as Darien, Downers Grove, Lemont, Lisle and Western Springs. The team's opening weekend begins Friday, and Patch is ready to help them celebrate. All season long Patch is sponsoring the opportunity for young baseball fans to participate as a bat boy or girl for a Hounds home game at the Village of Lisle-Benedictine University Sports Complex in Lisle. The child will receive a Patch baseball hat, and get to wear an official jersey supplied by the Hounds during the game. Participants must be 8-12 years of age and a resident of DuPage County. Editor's Note: The following article was submitted by Lemont resident Mary Pollard. Three levels of Lemont Indians boys travel baseball program won top trophies in Memorial weekend tournaments. The 11U team placed first at the Woodridge Memorial Classic Tournament, the 9U team placed second at the same tournament, and the 10U team placed first at the Downers Grove Long Shots National Tournament. As the only undefeated team in their age group, the 11U boys were seeded first in their tournament pool heading into the semi-final game. After a hard-fought victory over the West Suburban Wildcats, they played the host team, the Woodridge Bulldogs, for the championship.
