Art Jones, who hopes to challenge Democrat Dan Lipinski in Illinois' 3rd Congressional District, neither denies nor repudiates his past affiliation with the neo-Nazi Party.
A congressional candidate running as a Republican in the upcoming Illinois primary says the “Holocaust never happened.” Arthur Jones, 64, a Lyons, IL, insurance salesman who organizes family-friendly, neo-Nazi events around Adolf Hitler’s birthday, hopes to be the Republican candidate chosen to run against Democratic Congressman Dan Lipinski in Illinois’ 3rd Congressional District. “As far as I’m concerned, the Holocaust is nothing more than an international extortion racket by the Jews,” Jones said. “It’s the blackest lie in history. Millions of dollars are being made by Jews telling this tale of woe and misfortune in books, movies, plays and TV. "The more survivors, the more lies that are told." A member of the Nationalist Socialist …

While visiting Cardinal Joseph Bernardin Catholic School Monday, Congressman Dan Lipinski praised Catholic schools’ role in education, while voicing displeasure with the health care bill requirement.
U.S. Rep. Dan Lipinski may be pro-life, but he supports a form of choice when it comes to birth control and abortion treatment. The Illinois Democrat believes schools, non-profits and other groups openly aligned with religious organizations have the right to not offer contraception, birth control or abortion-inducing drugs as part of their health insurance benefits. The Democrat congressman recently expressed his disapproval with President Barack Obama’s Jan. 20 notice that private employers will have to cover birth control, even those who are religiously opposed to such treatment. “The exemption is so narrow that only the churches themselves where Catholic priests are administrators will be exempt,” Lipinski said Monday. “Cardinal Joseph …

In the newly drawn 3rd District, Democratic incumbent Dan Lipinski is challenged by a Chicago police officer, while three face off for the Republican nomination.
After a three-week delay caused by an ongoing lawsuit over Democrats’ new legislative maps, the filing period for congressional candidates ended Tuesday. Republicans challenged the new maps, saying they disenfranchise minority groups and violate the state constitution. Earlier this month, three federal judges rejected the GOP’s arguments against the maps, which were signed into law in June. As it stands, under the new maps, much of Lemont moves from the 13th District to the 3rd District, which has shifted west to include Palos Park, Homer Glen, Lockport, Romeoville and Crest Hill. The district is represented by Democratic incumbent Daniel Lipinski, a resident of Western Springs who is seeking re-election. Challenging Lipinski for the …

Saint Xavier University economics professor gives the plan a favorable review. It addresses the nation's infrastructure, manufacturing, education and innovation needs, while casting a critical eye on certain trade partners.
In the wake of disappointing national unemployment reports, U.S. Rep. Dan Lipinski (IL-D) has unveiled a proposal that is intended to create jobs primarily in America’s manufacturing, construction and transportation sectors. “This has been a problem not just since the recession officially began a couple years ago, but I've seen this as an issue for the middle class for the past decade,” Lipinski said by phone from Washington, D.C. “I think there's a general concern among a lot of people, and I especially hear this in my district: 'Where are the jobs going to come from in the future?'” To help revitalize middle class jobs, the proposal addresses the nation’s infrastructure, manufacturing, education and technological needs, while casting a …

New U.S. House boundaries will switch village to new district that includes Palos Park, Orland Park, Home Glen, Romeoville, Lockport.
New congressional district boundaries signed into law by Gov. Pat Quinn on Friday will move most of Lemont from the 13th Congressional District of Illinois into the 3rd Congressional District – that is if Republicans don't get their way after a challenge. The 13th District vanished from the Southland all together and moved downstate, to include Champaign and Bloomington, stretching southwest to St. Louis. The move would pit longtime U. S. Rep Judy Biggert (R-13th) against U.S. Rep. Daniel Lipinski (D-3rd) in the 2012 election, which is when the new representation will take effect. The 3rd District picked up more than just Lemont. It now covers Palos Park, Orland Park, Orland Hills, Homer Glen, Romeoville, Lockport and Crest Hill. New …
