Since its incorporation in 1850, Lemont Township officials have been providing residents with essential services suchMore as roadwork, emergency relief and financial aid for struggling families. With programs such as the Lemont Community Cafe - a lunch program for seniors age 60 and over - the Township remains dedicated to improving the lives of all residents.

The current Township Supervisor is Steven Rosendahl. Barbara Buschman is the Township Clerk and Kenneth Jacobowski is the Township Assessor. The Highway Commissioner is Sigitas Vaznelis. Township trustees are Timothy Garvey, Kathy Henrikson, Gregory Nicklas and Francis Wozniak.

The Lemont Township board meetings are held the second Tuesday of every month at 1115 Warner Avenue.

The Lemont Township Community Center opened in February 2011 and quickly became a go-to spot for community events,More family parties and government meetings. The $2 million facility is the highest point in Cook County, township officials say. In addition to a 4,500 sq. foot town hall space, the building offers a full kitchen and large patio overlooking many surrounding communities.

The center was constructed as part of the Heritage Woodland Sanctuary, and also features nature preserve to observe and explore.
