This may not be the time or the place for saying this, but I just wanted to take a moment toRead More chastise the Lemont VFW. I'm a 20 year veteran / retired US Navy Senior Chief (SeaBee) with all the right qualifications for membership. My father WAS a life member of the VFW. When asked if they (Lemont, VFW) would provide an honor guard or at least a presence at my fathers funeral they had to decline since neither my father nor myself were active members of their post. This is NOT the VFW I know from my experiences at other posts. I believe that all Veterans deserve our honor and respect regardless of monetary contributions or membership in "the good ol boys" exclusive club. (What if he were a homeless Vet?) My father was a Combat Engineer during WWII and served in Europe and Okinawa, Japan during the war alongside many others who gave their lives; part of the greatest generation. I am proud to say that the VFW Post in Plymouth, IN DID bestow honors upon him in the form of a 21 gun salute, bag piper and flag presentation. Lemont wouldn't even send a single representative. In conclusion, the reason I quit the Lemont VFW years ago was for the very same reason I shall never join again; I'm not interested in the "good ol' boys club"; just honoring those who go before us and insuring we take care of ALL our Vets; regardless of "what's in it for us."

I got my first Mac in 1985. A client bought it for me to use & said “Learn this Barbara,Read More this is your future.” It came with 2 programs, MacWrite & MacPaint, a 512k hard drive & an audio cassette. I closed my studio door, turned it on & fell in love. Thank you, Steve Jobs, RIP.

Terrible tragedy when anyone so young passes away, but I question what he was really doing. WasRead More alcohol invovled? Wasnt this accident in the wee hours of the morning? Nothing can be done to bring him back, but if something can be learned to prevent such a thing from happening again, then it should be brought to the surface. Was this a case of a terrible accident, or were irresponsible decisions a factor? If so, lessons can be learned in the future. May God be with him and his family.

What happened to the "full name only" policy? All these 3letter aliases... If you'reRead More gonna stick up for your friend and knock someone for being an "internet tough guy" then you shouldn't be such a hypocrite and leave your name.
