The PINK PASSION martini is my FAVORITE! No where else have I had such a great martini! Mmmm! :-)
Last Saturday, a couple of friends and I visited this culinary secret world hiding in plain sight in Lemont. I had driven past it many times before and wondered exactly what went on in there, behind those secretive covered windows. I had heard that Orange 13 was a decent place for cocktails, and my expectations were not only exceeded, they were blown away.
The interior is modern with old school details as a flourish, hiding its strip mall roots just about completely. Once inside, I understood the why the windows were covered, as a different world has been created in the space, almost a secret refuge from the world.
The service was knowledgeable, friendly, and courteous, as you would expect. The drinks were well prepared and the wine selections were appropriately interesting.
The food...well...I can't believe this place has been there so long, hiding in plain sight. Every dish from the kitchen, from the Lobster Bisque, to the entrees, all the way to the Creme Brulee, was artfully presented and well flavored.
Nice job. Highly recommended. Get a table early in the evening and you will receive more personal service, or stay up late for cocktails and conversation.
