Shop for the Holidays at Lemont Juniorettes' Vendor Fair

All proceeds will benefit the Lemont Juniorettes' efforts to help the community.

The Lemont Juniorettes will host a vendor fair fundraiser from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday, Nov. 18, at Lemont Safety Village on Stephen Street.

Vendors include Designer Replicas and Boutique Bags, Mary Kay Cosmetics, Mixed Bags, Pampered Chef and Premier Designs Jewelry.

Refreshments will be served.

All proceeds will benefit the Lemont Juniorettes' efforts to help the community.

• Youth Drug Education Program: The Lemont Police Department invites younger residents and their parents to participate in a drug education program, open for residents ages 11 to 17. The two-day class, from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 18 and Tuesday, Nov. 19, offers Lemont youth an opportunity to learn the harm and effect of drugs and alcohol. A parent or legal guardian is required to attend the course with their child, on the second day. The course costs $50 per child. The schedule can vary, and parents are encouraged to call for updated information. Parents interested in enrolling their children should email dbode@lemont.il.us. Payment is accepted on the first day of attendance. Classes are held at the Lemont Police Department, 14600 127th St. 
• Lemont Artists Guild Silk Painting Presentation: Karen Snow will give a short history and demonstrate silk painting at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 20, at the Lemont Public Library, 50 E. Wend St. Snow will also provide different silk fabrics to feel. She uses non-toxic dyes. Snow is a member of Silk Painters International and founded the local chapter, Second Sunday Silk Painters. She is an Illinois Artisan and serves on the faculty of the LaGrange Art League.
• Shop Til You Drop: Lemont Park District's Shop Til You Drop event will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 21, at the CORE. Attendees can peruse a variety of gifts. Free entry to shoppers.
• Famous First Ladies: Actress and singer Jenny Riddle will dramatize, in character, the personal lives of three First Ladies, Mary Todd Lincoln, Eleanor Roosevelt and Jackie Kennedy, from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 23, at the Lemont Public Library, 50 E.
