Sunset Soiree Concert Series Starts Off Strong

The series opened June 5, and returns June 19.

Lemont residents looking for local fun can grab a picnic basket and settle in for a show.

The Lemont Park District, in partnership with The Village of Lemont, has expanded the Sunset Soiree free outdoor concert series to take place five times this summer.

The first concert was sponsored by Country Financial of Lemont and was held on Thursday, June 5, on Stephen Street just north of Talcott Avenue featuring music from Just South of Heaven. The band played from 6 to 9 p.m. and approximately 300 folks enjoyed the show. The next three concerts will take place at the same location.

Lineup includes:

  • June 19: The Walk-ins (popular hits from the '80s through current)
  • July 24: Split Decision ('70s classic rock to today’s hits)
  • August 7: Rendition (alternative, classic, country and pop music)
Pollyanna Brewery and Jeffrey LaMorte Salon are also concert sponsors. Local restaurants will cater to guests by offering takeout food and drink items. The final show will be a “Back to School”-themed event held at Covington North Park on August 21, featuring The Janglers.

Concert area opens at 5:30 p.m. and music starts at 6 p.m.  Picnic baskets and bag chairs permitted. For more information on Sunset Soirees visit www.lemontparkdistrict.org or www.lemont.il.us. You can also call 630-257-6787.
