PHOTOS: Lemont Residents Enjoy First 'Pack the Park' of Summer

More than 100 residents joined the Lemont Park District at Covington North Park on Wednesday for a night of live music, games and a showing of "Chipmunks: Chipwrecked."

Summer was in full swing Wednesday as more than 100 residents enjoyed a night of games and live music at the first "Pack the Park" of the season.

The event took place at Covington North Park, 15200 E. 127th St., and featured a performance from local band 28 Days and a special showing of the hit film Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chipwrecked.

The next "Pack the Park" will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday, July 11, at , 1115 McCarthy Road. Music will be provided by Jack Benimble, and the movie Rio will be screened.

Another will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 8, at , 16028 W. 127th St. The event will feature music from the Walk-Ins and a showing of The Smurfs.

Was there ever a time when a full day was offered Jennifer? I was in kindergarten at Oakwood aboutRead More 28 years ago and even then it was half day. If you want full day Kate, St Pats/St Al's, St Cyril's, and I'm sure others are full day.

Full-day kindergarTen has a lot of fillers too: they eatRead More lunch, go outside, go to the bathroom, etc. I don't think our public schools allow snacks in the classroom anyway. Any teacher would know that learning starts at home, and a teacher would know how to supplement a kindergarten curriculum.
