Whiz Kid's Key to Awesomeness: The following article was submitted to Patch by Diane Paloian:

The Trojans rolled through their regular season, then defeated Lake Park High School in the quarterfinals and Glenbard High School in the semifinals—advancing them to the championship game.

The Trojans fell behind 1–0 in the first period on the Neuqua Valley power play goal. The Trojans were shorthanded most of the first period, but great goaltending from Jason Florcyk, Bolingbrook, kept them in the game.

Dan Desmond, Lemont, scored the Trojans first goal on a breakaway after getting a perfect pass from Joe Paloian, Lemont. The Trojans took the lead on their second goal in period two by Kyle Millinowich, Lemont, assisted by Dave Ulanski, Lemont.

Paloian put the Trojans ahead 3–1 on a nifty highlight reel goal. Assisting on the goal were Byron Graf and Mark Brayne, Downers Grove North.

The Trojans had to hold on through the third period despite being shorthanded twice. Stellar goaltending by Joe Stolfo, Lemont, shut the door on Neuqua Valley.

The Trojans held on to win 3–1.  They have been to the championship three straight seasons.

Head Coach Bill Broderick was quoted as saying, “This team really came together and had a lot of fun in the process and our goaltenders were awesome!"
