Whiz Kids: Lemont Raiders FC U14

The girls won the Great Lakes Soccer Challenge in Plainfield over the weekend.

Lemont Raiders Futbol Club Girls U14

Whiz Kids' Names: Alli Egan, Madison Cebular, Joy Drassler, Cara Walsh, Colleen Devries, Emily Lane, Samantha Jurgeto, Ashley Mathews, Talia Santangelo, Natalie O'Shea, Priscilla Rodriquez, Carli Bermele, Amanda Baker, Caitlin Shanahan, Claire Cvengros, Erica Lumsden

Whiz Kids' Accomplishment: The Raiders FC Girls U14 team won the Great Lakes Soccer Challenge in Plainfield over the weekend. The team is part of the Illinois Womens Soccer League.

Whiz Kid's Key to Awesomeness: The team played three games during the tournament, which was held Sept. 16-18. They posted shutouts in each of the games.

In the championship, they posted yet another shutout (3-0). This is the girls' first "shutout tournament" of the season. The team's overall record this year is 18-2-3.

The team is soached by Mike Ford and Dave Bermele.
