Sports Roundup: Six Lemont Students Sign Letters of Intent

Bolingbrook

Girls Soccer

  •  Five different Lady Raiders scored to clinch sole possession of the RomeoBrook Tournament title. Midfielders Brianna Holmes and Karen Quintana each netted two goals, while fellow midfielder Gabby Pontarelli, defenseman Katy Rees and forward Joselyn Padilla picked up Bolingbrook's other scores.
  • Nikia Smith opened up the scoring for Bolingbrook at the 20:49 mark of the first half. Nearly six minutes later, Karen Quintana  put one past the keeper to extend the team's lead to 2-0.
  •  Senior Gaby Pontarelli and sophomore Jocelyn Padilla each scored two goals apiece, sparking the Bolingbrook High School girls soccer team's 5-1 season-opening win against Romeoville.
Romeoville

Girls Soccer

  • Mayra Moreno was credited with a goal with 3:09 remaining in the first half as Romeoville was able to get a corner kick to the front of the net, putting the pressure on Mount Assisi's defense, which buckled and put in an own goal.
  • Two days after mustering only one goal against Bolingbrook in a tournament opening loss, Romeoville's Vicky Arriola scored its first two goals of the season and the team didn't look back from there.
  • Senior Gaby Pontarelli and sophomore Jocelyn Padilla each scored two goals apiece, sparking the Bolingbrook High School girls soccer team's 5-1 season-opening win against Romeoville.

Girls Cross Country

  • Oswego High School’s Alyson Fisher joined an elite class by being earning I.
Naperville

Girls Track and Field

  • Waubonsie Valley Warriors in Batavia.

Girls Soccer

  • Waubonsie(0-1) had its 17-game unbeaten streak snapped despite outshooting the Lions 13-6 and controlling play both early and late.
