Despite a strong start from the visiting Morgan Park Mustangs, the varsity football team Friday night in the first game of the IHSA Class 6A playoffs.

The Indians (10-0) beat the Mustangs (4-6) 56-30, scoring 47 points after falling behind 12-3 early in the first quarter.

Lemont will travel to conference rival Oak Forest next week for their second-round match after the Bengals dismantled conference foe T.F. North in a 48-26 win Friday night. The date and time of the game will be announced at 2 p.m. Monday on IHSA.org.
