For the fourth time in six years, Lemont High School's football program will play for a berth in the state championship game. The Indians, who advanced thanks to a 21-14 win at Oak Forest in the quarterfinal round, will host top-seeded Crete-Monee in an IHSA Class 6A Semifinal contest at 6 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 17. Gates will open at 4:30 p.m.

The winner of Saturday’s game will advance to the IHSA Class 6A State Championship. Lemont fans are encouraged to wear blue to support the Indians as they strive for a third state finals appearance in six seasons.

Lemont High School sold tickets in advance. Fans who are unable to attend the game can watch the game live by clicking on the "Watch Live Sporting Events" link under the 'Athletics' tab on the school's Web site, www.lhs210.net.

Head coach Eric Michaelsen's Indians, who were playing in the quarterfinal round for the sixth straight year, pushed their winning streak to six games with the 21-14 win at Oak Forest. Lemont (11-1) has reached the IHSA Class 6A Semifinal round for the second straight season and for the fourth time in six years. The Indians finished as the IHSA Class 6A State Runner-Up in both 2007 and 2008.

Playing its third straight home game in the playoffs, head coach Jerry Verde's Crete-Monee (12-0) squad eased by previously undefeated Ottawa Township, 42-6, in its quarterfinal game. The Warriors have won 22 of their last 23 games, and will be making their first-ever appearance in the semifinal round of the IHSA football playoffs.
