IHSA Football Pairings: Lemont Hosts Morgan Park in Playoff Opener

The Illinois High School Association announced first-round football playoff matchups during a live telecast on Comcast SportsNet Chicago Plus Saturday night.

The football team will kick off the 2011 state playoffs with a home game against Morgan Park, the Illinois High School Association announced.

First-round playoff matchups were revealed Saturday night during a live telecast on Comcast SportsNet Chicago Plus. All first-round games will be played Friday, Oct. 28, or Saturday, Oct. 29. Exact times and dates of games will be announced by 3 p.m. Monday on IHSA.org.

No. 1 Lemont (9-0) will take on No. 8 Morgan Park (4-5) in the first round of the Class 6A playoffs. Should the Indians win, they will face either No. 4 T.F. North or No. 5 Oak Forest .

The Indians completed their Friday night with a 41-13 win over Oak Forest. They have now outscored opponents 365-45 for an average of 40.6 points for and only 5 points against.

This year marks the Indians' eighth consecutive appearance in the IHSA playoffs. The team has advanced to at least the quarterfinal round four years in a row.
