Boys Soccer: Lemont Wins Class 2A Sectional

The Indians (20-3-3) beat Bremen (17-8-1) 1-0 Friday night to advance to the Peoria Notre Dame Supersectional.

The varsity boys soccer team captured its third straight sectional championship Friday night after beating Bremen 1-0.

The Indians' goal was scored by senior forward Mike Walus with 12 minutes left in the second half. Tommy Gasienica and Kasparas Jasenauskas were credited with assists.

Lemont goalie Andrew Putna made five saves to record his 19th shutout this season.

The Indians (20-3-3) will play at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the Peoria Notre Dame Supersectional. The will play either Morton or Peoria Notre Dame, whose game was scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday.
