Patch's MVP: Lemont starting pitcher and University of Illinois-bound Josh Ferry. From the mound, Ferry went the distance, allowing two runs on four hits and fanned nine. Offensively, he went 2-for-4 with three RBIs, two doubles and two runs scored.

Quote I:
"Josh (Ferry) is our number one (pitcher)," said Lemont head coach Joe Rodeghero. "Ferry hasn't been on the mound in a while, but we wanted him to pitch all seven [innings] or close to a complete game. He did that for us (Monday)."

"We swung th e bats well. It was a matter of time. In the first two innings we were hitting the ball hard down the lines. I thought (Bremen starting pitcher Jim Miller had a nice velocity). This is a huge win because they're in our sectional.

Quote II:
"It was a competitive game through four (innings)," said Bremen head coach Mike Cline. "I told [our team] that we couldn't let Ferry settle in. We should have gotten to him earlier. Lemont is a good team and well coached."

"We hitting a rough patch now losing our last four. I believe we've got a good team and all we need to do is keep blugging away, because they're fighters. We need to keep grinding and the hits will come."

Team records:
Lemont 10-6, Bremen 14-9 (6-5).
