17 Lemont High School Students Sign National Letters of Intent
Students committed to collegiate baseball, cross country, golf, soccer, football, tennis and swimming programs during a ceremony Wednesday.
Seventeen students signed National Letters of Intent on Wednesday for various collegiate athletic programs.

Senior outfielder Kyle Millinowisch will play baseball at North Central College beginning in Fall 2012. He earned all-conference accolades as a junior in 2011, batting a team-high .420 with 24 RBIs and a school-record 49 runs scored. He also set a single-season record for walks (25) and stolen bases (36).
Giovanni Schmitt

Senior infielder Giovanni Schmitt will play baseball at Robert Morris University in Illinois beginning in Fall 2012. He batted .310 as a junior in 2011, driving in 22 runs and scoring 29 times. He posted a .420 on-base percentage (15 walks, 6 hit-by-pitches), and was 12-for-16 in stolen base attempts.
Cross Country
Brittney Klosak
Klosak will run cross country beginning in Fall 2012 for Quincy University. In 2011, she helped Lemont to a conference title by finishing 13th at the SSC Blue meet, and was one of the team's top five runners at the IHSA state finals. She was also a member of the 2010 squad that advanced to the state finals.
Football
Sebastian Koziel
Koziel (6-foot-2, 215 pounds) will play for North Central College. He totaled 45 tackles (33 solo) from the defensive line as a junior and senior. He also contributed seven sacks, seven tackles-for-loss, two fumble recoveries and two pass break-ups during his career.
Arnas Laurinaitis
Laurinaitis (6-foot-2, 270 pounds) will play for Western Illinois University. He racked up 74 tackles (61 solo) while spending two seasons as the squad’s starting nose guard. An All-SSC performer, he collected 12 tackles-for-loss, forced two fumbles, and also recovered two fumbles.
Andrew Manganiello
Manganiello (5-foot-9, 230 pounds) will play for Olivet Nazarene University. He totaled 39 tackles (22 solo) from the defensive tackle position. He also added six tackles-for-loss and two sacks over two seasons.
Josh Young
Young (5-foot-10, 145 pounds) will play for Valparaiso University. He played parts of three seasons on the varsity squad, and served as the team’s primary place kicker for two of those campaigns. He converted 100 of 112 point-after attempts, and also added two field goals to finish his career with 106 points. Young also averaged 45.8 yards on 112 kickoffs in his career.
Golf
Eric Gruber
Gruber will play golf in Fall 2012 at North Central College. He was a 2010 and 2011 All-South Suburban Conference performer, and has competed at the IHSA State Finals the past two years.
Kevin Kling
Kling will play golf in Fall 2012 at the University of St. Francis. He was a 2010 All-South Suburban Conference performer, and competed at the IHSA State Finals each year from 2009 to 2011.
Emily Lejman
Lejman will join the womens golf program at St. Mary's College in Indiana in Fall 2012. She is one of the most decorated golfers in the history of Lemont's program, collecting 20 medalist finishes over the course of her career. In 2011, she became the first female golfer in school history to advance to the IHSA state finals.
Brian Zabiegly
Zabiegly will play golf in Fall 2012 at the University of St. Francis. He has been a key contributor for the boys golf program, which in the last two years has posted a 28-2 dual meet record, won two South Suburban Conference-Blue titles, captured IHSA regional and sectional titles and placed among the top seven at the IHSA Class 2A Boys Golf State Finals.
Soccer
Connor Cunningham
Cunningham will play soccer beginning in Fall 2012 at Trinity Christian College. During his two varsity seasons, he started 52 of 53 games, totaling four goals and four assists.
Sydney Goushas
Goushas will play soccer at Elmhurst College beginning in Fall 2012. Over her three year varsity career, she has totaled 44 points on 16 goals and 12 assists. She earned all-conference accolades in 2011.
Nick Tiedt
Tiedt will play soccer beginning in Fall 2012 at North Central College. He is a four-year member of Lemont's varsity squad, starting 96 of 100 games and totaling two goals and 16 assists. The Indians won two SSC titles, four IHSA regional crowns and three IHSA sectional championships during that time, and Tiedt twice was named as an All-SSC performer. He also was cited as an all-state pick as a senior.
Hannah Yackley
Yackley will play soccer at the University of St. Francis beginning in Fall 2012. In her first season on the school's varsity squad, she has collected two goals and an assist while helping the squad post 16 shutouts.
Swimming
Matt Kubowitsch
Kubowitsch will join the mens swimming program at North Central College beginning in Fall 2012. A freestyle specialist, he has been a key contributor to Lemont's swimming team for the past two years. He is also an Illinoiw Swimming, Inc. certified coach, and is a coach for the Lemont Dolphins program.
Tennis
Jonathan Pacheco
Pacheco will play tennis at the University of St. Francis beginning in Fall 2012. He has enjoyed a solid career at Lemont, excelling in both singles and doubles play. He competed in the 2011 IHSA state finals, and hopes to return in 2012.
