Who Will Be This Year's 'Mr. Lemont High School?'

The March 20 'Mr. LHS' contest will pit approximately 20 male students from several grade levels against each other as they compete for the "Mr. LHS" crown.

Lemont High School’s Junior Class and Athletic Council will team to host the “Mr. LHS” contest on Friday, March 21, at 7 p.m. in the school’s Performing Arts Center. The event will pit approximately 20 male students from several grade levels against each other as they compete for the “Mr. LHS” crown. Proceeds from the “Mr. LHS” contest will benefit the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Senior Lizzy Forzley and sophomore Jack Buday will serve as hosts for the event, which will include three rounds of competition.

After the “Grand Entrance” of all the contestants, the competition will begin with the “Q&A” round, during which faculty panelists – including Business teacher John Aspel, English teacher Jeana Parry and Social Studies teacher Justin Weidler – will ask questions of the participants. The contestant pool will be trimmed to ten after the first round.

The remaining contestants will compete in a series of “Minute to Win It” games, from which five finalists will emerge. In the final round, the surviving “Mr. LHS” hopefuls will take part in the “Talent” portion of the event.

The audience will have the final say as to who moves on after each round, as well as who ultimately is named “Mr. LHS.”

All tickets are $10 and may be purchased at the door that evening. Students also can purchase tickets at lunch on Thursday, March 20, and Friday, March 21.

Lemont High School is located at 800 Porter Street in Lemont.

Lemont’s Junior Class is sponsored by Special Education teacher Stephenie Campanile, World Languages Chair Christie Klingsporn and Spanish teacher Ann Rodriguez-Baltrum. Athletic Director John Young is responsible for the Athletic Council.
