Each week, Lemont Patch will seek suggestions from readers for individual kids, youth groups, teens and even sports teams that wow us with their accomplishments.

Daniel Zmarzlinski

Whiz Kid's Age: 18

Whiz Kid's Accomplishment: Last month, Zmarzlinski received Lemont High School's Outstanding Senior Foreign Language Student award during .

Whiz Kid's Key to Awesomeness: This school year, he was enrolled in Spanish IV Honors Accelerated, French II and German I—and he excelled at all three. He was inducted to the French National Honor Society in this spring, and was a member of the Foreign Language Club and National English Honor Society.

Additionally, he did a first-semester independent study in world cultures, and a second-semester independent study in Spanish teaching.

After completing his Spanish IV Honors Accelerated course, he earned 12 hours in transferrable credits from Joliet Junior College.

Zmarzlinski was also a high honor roll student, graduating in the top 20 percent of his class. He will attened either the College of DuPage or DePaul University this fall to study education.
