Old Quarry Scholastic Bowl Team: Whiz Kids

The group was honored Monday night at the District 113A Board of Education meeting.

Old Quarry Scholastic Bowl Team

Whiz Kids' Names: Eighth-graders Alex Micco, Alyssa Stecyna, Justin Whitehouse, Diana Vera, Bailey Fox, Nathan Crockett; and seventh-graders Claire Gagen, Taylor Campos and Jason Hackiewicz

Whiz Kids' Ages: Grades 7 and 8

Whiz Kids' Accomplishment: The team recently won Southeast DuPage Elementary Athletic Association tournament. They are ranked second in conference and earned a regular season record of 13-2.

Whiz Kid's Key to Awesomeness: Members of the Scholastic Bowl team were honored Monday night at the District 113A Board of Education meeting. Old Quarry Principal Bill Caron praised the students for being able to answer "incredibly difficult questions" covering everything from science and social studies to culture and religion.
