LHS Educational Foundation Announces Annual 'Food for Thought' Fundraiser

Tickets are now available for "Food for Thought: Spooktacular," which will be held Oct. 29 at the Narnia Estate.

Several local businesses will serve up their best dishes this month for the Lemont High School Educational Foundation's annual "Food for Thought" fundraiser.

Now in its fifth year, the foundation's signature event features an array of food and beverages from a number of Lemont establishments, and will be held at 6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 29, at , 16501 W. 135th St.

The fundraiser's theme this year is "Spooktacular." Guests will enjoy "ghoulish decor and fare" from 13 local businesses, as well as a raffle and silent auction.

For the first time, "Food for Thought" will feature live music, courtesy of local band "Crazy Uncles." Citgo has also come on board as the presenting sponsor.

Four of Lemont's newest restaurants — Jimmy John's, , and — will participate in "Food for Thought" for the first time this year. They will join nine returning contributors: , , , , , , , and .

Since 2007, "Food for Thought" has hosted more than 1,400 guests and has contributed to the $130,000 in grants awarded by the Lemont High School Educational Foundation. In April, the foundation totaling $27,233 for Lemont High School's students, faculty and staff.

Tickets for the event are $75 each, and may be purchased by calling Pete Coules at 630-257-2718 or Tricia Gikas at 630-257-9691. Tickets are also expected to be available online by mid-October.
