Lemont's Autumn Karmia Named Forest Preserve 'Youth Volunteer of the Year'

Karmia is the third Lemont High School student to earn the award since 2010.

High School senior Autumn Karmia has been named the 2011 “Youth Volunteer of the Year” by the Forest Preserve District of Will County.

Karmia was presented with her award at the organization’s annual volunteer banquet, which was held April 13. Outstanding forest preserve volunteers were honored in 10 categories.

Karmia, an honor roll student, is the third Lemont High School student to earn Youth Volunteer of the Year accolades since 2010; Natalie Bujak ‘10 and Chris Nottoli ‘10 shared the 2009 award.

The Forest Preserve District of Will County’s Youth Volunteer of the Year award
is presented to individuals ages 19 or under who distinguish themselves to the organization’s staff.
