LHS to Host College Planning Session Thursday

Program is designed to help parents navigate college financial aid, application process.

Lemont High School will host its annual College and Financial Aid Night beginning at 7 p.m. Thursday in the school’s Performing Arts Center.

The program, which will feature Chicago-area high school guidance counselor Frank Palmasani, will provide parents and guardians of students in grades 9-12 with an overview of financial aid and the college application process.

Palmasani, who currently serves as a guidance counselor at Hinsdale South High School, has previously served as a college director of admissions, and is the creator of “Financial Fit” and a contributor to CollegeCountdown.com.

He has delivered seminars on college financial aid and planning for more than 25 years, reaching more than 200,000 attendees over that timeframe. Palmasani is the author of the forthcoming book “Right College, Right Price” and has shared his expertise through both local and national media outlets.

In addition to Palmasani, the Illinois Student Assistance Commission (ISAC) will be on hand to distribute important information to parents. ISAC administers scholarship, grant, loan and prepaid tuition programs for the State of Illinois, and is committed to making college accessible and affordable for all Illinois students.

Lemont High School is located at 800 Porter Street in Lemont. Those who plan to attend should enter the building through the Performing Arts Center entrance, which is located off of Julia Street.
